Frequently Asked Questions

The principles of Radiology Imaging Solutions dictate that at the heart of great sales and service, our people must first be a teacher.

Here are some of the opportunities that we have had for teaching moments:

Q. What are the State of Michigan lead requirements for my X-ray room?

A. For Medical radiographic rooms a 1/16th lead equivalent is required and where the beam is primary for example behind an upright, a 1/8th lead equivalent is required.

Read the Michigan guidelines.

Q. What are the minimum ceiling height requirements to have an overhead tube crane?

A. Although it is best to check with the manufacturer, some manufacturers only require a minimum ceiling height of 9 feet.

Q. What payment options to we offer?

A. For our website sales, all sales require a credit card.  We accept all major credit cards.

For local customers, we accept credit cards or for those customers that have established credit with us, we offer thirty-day payment arrangements.  Talk to one of our customer service representatives for full details.

Q. If I switch to DR, how much will my reimbursement change?

A. The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016, also known as the Omnibus Bill, was signed into law in December 2015. Under the Act, Facilities with Direct Radiography (DR) systems will be reimbursed at the full level. Government based payments (Medicare Medicaid) will be reduced by 20% for exams performed on analog (film) X-ray systems starting in 2017 and by 7% on Computed Radiography (CR) equipment starting in 2018. Starting in 2023, reimbursement for exams performed on Computed Radiography (CR) equipment will be reduced by 10%. Congress approved this Government based reimbursement change to encourage providers to more readily convert from film and cassette-based radiography systems (CR) to fully digital systems. In the past, Private insurance companies have taken the lead from Government based payment schedules, making it likely that private payers will reduce claims payments for analog and CR imaging similar to those based on Government based payments.

Q. Do you handle ultrasound?

A. Yes, we do. We can get systems for almost all applications, new and refurbished.
